Health and Safety Compliance Check

Assess your organisation’s health and safety compliance level.

  1. Do you have a written Health Safety Policy Statement of Intent?
  2. Do you have a written Health and Safety Policy, if so is it periodically reviewed?
  3. Are your Risk Assessments carried out by a ‘competent’ person, are the Risk Assessments ‘Suitable and Sufficient’ and periodically reviewed as required by law?
  4. Do you report and investigate all accidents, incidents and near misses?
  5. Do you have written safe systems of work?
  6. Have all your employees had appropriate Induction, Mandatory and Specific Training in Health and Safety subjects, if so has this been evaluated?
  7. Are all your employees aware of their responsibilities under Health and Safety Law?
  8. Do you have a robust Health and Safety Management System in place?
  9. Do you undertake inspections and audits of the Safety Management System?
  10. Are you aware of your organisation’s ‘relevant duty of care’ under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007?

Food Safety Compliance Check

Assess your organisation’s food safety compliance level.

  1. Do you have a written Food Safety Operational Policy?
  2. Do you have minimum Food Hygiene training standards for all levels of Catering staff?
  3. Do you have a HACCP Management system in place?
  4. Do you carry out and record ‘due diligence’ checks on your suppliers?
  5. Do you carry our regular Hygiene Inspections in all food areas?
  6. Do you have a Hygiene Code of Practice for Food Handlers?
  7. Do you have written Health and Safety procedures in place for all relevant equipment and chemicals in use?
  8. Have you a plan in the event of an Outbreak or Suspected Outbreak of Food Poisoning?
  9. Are your staff able to identify Food Allergy risks?
  10. Do you have a Pest Control Contract, if so is it effective?
