CIEH Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Duration of course – Half day

Suitable for – Employees who require an introduction to workplace health and safety, they can progress to job specific and level 2 training.

CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Duration of course – Full day

Suitable for – Employees are made aware of their own health and safety and the safety of others using the organisation.

  • Learning the principles of health and safety and accident prevention.
  • Understand health and safety law and legal impact on the organisation.
  • Ability to contribute to any health and safety management system, follow safety procedures, systems and rules.
  • Understand the importance of Risk Assessment as a technique for accident and ill-health prevention.

CIEH Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment

Duration of course – Full day

Suitable for – All employees, to raise awareness of the concept of risk assessment, also can be used as a foundation for level 3 in Risk Assessment Principles and practice, leading to a competency level for undertaking risk assessment.

  • Ability to contribute both to maintenance of a safe work environment and to the process of formal risk assessment.

  • Understand the legal aspects for completing ‘suitable and sufficient’ risk assessments.
  • Understand the definitions of Hazard and risk, Likelihood and severity and Risk assessment.

Health and Safety Awareness for Managers

Workplace aggression and violence is on the rise and employers have a duty of care to provide a safe place of work, this course assists employees in dealing with difficult and or aggressive situations.

Suitable for – Staff in most sectors, anyone who has to carry out manual handling tasks in their day to day workplace.

Display Screen Equipment and Office Safety

Duration of course – Half day

Suitable for – All levels of staff who use display screen equipment on a regular daily basis, including the mobile workforce and the use of Laptops.

  • Understand the legal requirements of the DSE Regulations.
  • Identify the hazards associated with Display Screen Equipment and workstations.
  • Demonstrate how to correctly set up a workstation and associated equipment.
  • Identify with Occupational health issues.
  • Assess the risks related to DSE, workstations, mobile and home employees.
  • Define Ergonomics in the office environment

Stress Awareness and Stress Management

Duration of course – Half day

Suitable for – Employees at all levels, managers and supervisory and especially employees dealing with the public, working to targets and deadlines, providing services, working in pressured environments.

  • Understand the legal implications and the responsibilities under the new HSE Standards on work-related stress.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
